Your starting point is the down-arrow in the upper-left corner of the Slack window, which you probably use already to Edit your Status and Change your Profile. Once you have a paid plan, you just have to be an Administrator of your Slack account, and you then work with the Administrator of the Slack account of the company you want to collaborate with. If you are on the Free plan then you won’t be able to set up a Shared channel.
